I am writing with gratitude for our relationship as clergy leaders in our local community, and with an invitation to join me in a multi-faith celebration of America’s semiquincentennial called faith250.

This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for members of our national community to clarify and articulate the values that hold us together. We all know these are divisive and bitter times, and yet we all seek a healthier civic whole. This program is a way to leverage the 250^th to counter the bitterness, and increase the health.

I am asking you to join me and a handful of other local clergy for four conversations about America. We will keep our group small. We will talk about some key texts from American history. And if we feel our conversations are valuable, we will plan a way to repeat the process with four fellowship gatherings with our communities.
